my heart in love

Love
i hate it
it takes your heart
and holds it gently,
tenderly in its hands
and then
just when your heart settles
into the soft comfort there
….the nurturing, encompassing, protective hands
just when your heart breathes
a contented sigh
and curls into the warmth

the hands that were so loving
take that heart
and rip it into pieces
and your heart screams
as it is torn apart
viciously the hands tear
until they are covered in blood
and they throw the pieces down in disgust
and stomp upon them
crushing them over and over
with a mindless rage
until the heart stops its screaming
