resurrection

mary,

shall we go? it’s time.

to visit what we fear is death

to bathe the wounds

and mourn this loss of hope

mary

are you ready?

to be surprised by God

disguised as gardener

come to plant new seeds

your ravaged garden,

lamented, then released

as at Gethsemane

will be nurtured by this death

as eden

springs up from decay

thomas,

my beloved

do not be afraid

reach out and touch me

i am here

even in this too familiar

broken body

and i will join you on the road

dis-illusioned as you are

that redemption didn’t wear the clothes

you’d recognize

to harken back

manna in the desert

bread to break within

perceived abandonment

as eden

springs up from decay
