Gratitude

algonquin 2015 autumn 005

Although it is true that I was so very grateful for this soothing and beauty-filled, solid-rock perch at the end of a long physical day, it is the feeling that floods me as I revisit this image today, a full-bodied sigh of deep appreciation for simple gifts such as this, always available but, sadly, rarely acknowledged. And I wonder, if I can tap into that memory in the cells of my body, in the neurons of my heart and my brain when gazing at this photo in remembrance, how might I teach myself to remember each day to sit back, at least once at the end of each day, to say “Ahhh” and “Yes”. “Thank you for this”
